We continue with our virtual Master Class programme and are delighted to invite you to have Will Morris and Helen Lakeman from Grant Thornton and Amy Stokes from TLT LLP to join us to present this Masterclass.
Whistleblowers can often hold the key to unlocking complex issues. Join us for a lively and interactive discussion exploring how the whistleblowing landscape is changing in the UK, and the practical steps you can take to encourage and protect people who raise concerns within organisations you work with. SPEAKERS
Will Morris - Associate Director, Forensic & Investigation Services, Grant Thornton
Will Morris is an Associate Director in the Forensic & Investigation Services team at Grant Thornton. Will primarily works on forensic accounting investigations into allegations of fraud, financial misreporting and other forms of misconduct. Through secondments, Will has worked as part of internal investigation/speak up teams in the UK and overseas, and has supported organisations looking to improve the effectiveness of their whistleblowing frameworks.
Helen Lakeman - Associate Director, Forensic & Investigation Services, Grant Thornton
Helen Lakeman is an Associate Director in the Forensic Investigation Services team at Grant Thornton, and a Fellow of the ICAEW. Helen has specialised in Forensic Accounting for over 15 years and is an Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist. Helen has been involved in the investigation of a number of whistleblowing allegations, along with wider fraud and ‘black hole’ investigations. Helen’s other experience includes working as the principal investigator under Section 447 of the Companies Act 1985, and investigation of bribery allegations at a Scottish company with global operations, enabling the company to self report effectively to the Crown Office and agree a civil settlement.
Amy Stokes - Partner, TLT LLP
Amy is an experienced employment solicitor providing commercial and strategic support and advice to clients in a variety of sectors. Areas of specialism include: employment tribunal litigation, whistleblowing, reorganisation, restructuring and industrial relations. Adept at navigating industrial and employment relations matters, fostering positive relationships between employers and employees. Amy understands the impact that employment issues can have on employers, and strives to provide comprehensive legal advice that aligns with her clients' strategic objectives.
