SPEAKERS BIOS

Matt Knowles, ACG Intelligence and Strategic Initiatives ManagerAnti-Counterfeit Group

Matthew spent 16 years with Trading Standards, undertaking varied roles including Accredited Financial Investigator, Senior Investigator and Team Manager, before becoming a private contractor specialising in IP crime in Camden and Manchester, and undertaking project work for National Trading Standards and the IPO. Matthew holds a Masters in Counter Fraud, Counter Corruption and Intelligence, and his research thesis focused on counterfeiting in Strangeways, Manchester. Matthew’s ACG role includes collating brand member intelligence to identify physical and online threats, building strong relationships with and working closely with stakeholders to develop appropriate preventive strategies. Matthew is also Chair of the National Markets Group, a public/ private sector initiative with a primary aim to protect UK physical markets and consumers from counterfeiters.

Andrew has over 17 years of Law enforcement experience, with a varied career in Policing covering, public order, specialist counter terrorism, disaster victim identification, serious and complex crime investigation.

He managed an Overseas Anti Corruption team and played a key role in the implementation of the Attorney General's Disclosure Review.

Prior to leaving the City of London Police he led the Police Intellectual Property Crime Unit (PIPCU) having oversight of the proactive and disruption operations covering the UK and building partnerships around the globe.

Andrew is now the Lead for EMEA partnerships at IP House, a cutting-edge private sector company dedicated to combating intellectual property theft and defending global innovations. He continues to cultivate key relationships across this industry and draws on his investigation experience to provide holistic guidance and engage with Law Enforcement across the region to raise interest and support.
